Fix It Rob! for iPhone · Effective September 6, 2026

Fix It Rob! ("the app", "we") helps you understand damage in a home by analyzing photos you choose to take. This policy explains exactly what information the app handles, where it goes, and what stays on your phone. It is written to match how the app actually works.

The short version: there are no accounts, no ads, no trackers, and no analytics SDKs. Photos you scan are sent to our server and to our AI provider to produce your report, and our server never stores them. Your scan history, survey answers, and precise location stay on your phone.

What we process, and why

Photos you scan. When you scan damage, the photo is sent over an encrypted connection to our server, which forwards it to Google's Gemini API (paid tier) to generate the report. Our server holds the image in memory only for the duration of the request and does not save it, and we turn off Google's interaction storage on every request. Before upload, the app strips all photo metadata, including any embedded GPS location. Google does not use paid-tier prompts or responses to improve its models; it logs them for a limited period solely to detect and prevent abuse, under its own privacy policy.

Your city and state. The city and state you enter during onboarding (editable any time under Profile) are sent with each scan so repair cost estimates reflect your local market rather than a national average. They are also used for the "Area Intel" feature, which asks the AI provider to research construction and utility information for your area using web search. We do not store your city or state on our server beyond a short-lived cache of area research results keyed by city name, which is not linked to you.

A few onboarding answers — how handy you are, and whether you are a contractor — accompany scans so the advice is written for you. No other survey answers leave your phone.

What never leaves your phone

Service providers

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with anyone else.

Server logs and abuse prevention

Our server keeps standard technical logs (timestamps, request outcomes, and error messages) and briefly tracks request counts per network address to prevent abuse. Logs do not contain your photos or report contents.

Your choices

Children

Fix It Rob! is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Not professional advice

Reports are AI-generated, planning-level estimates based on a photo. They are not a professional inspection, engineering opinion, or contractor quote. Always confirm with a licensed professional before buying a home or starting a repair.
